About us
  • German troops invaded on 10 May 1940 the Netherlands, according to their believes for a period of 1000 years. It lasted 5 years. During the occupation lots of soldiers were billeted in schools and houses, but the majority did their duty in the barracks taken over from the Dutch troops. All those places where the ideal spots to interact with the population. But did it happen? When the Germans pulled out five years later, certain everlasting things remained, such as bunkers along the coastline and the thousands of photographs the soldiers took home with them.
  • Those photographs give an unique insight in the military life and spare time of the soldiers. Reason for us to collect them.
